Concrete Paving
Let's talk about what concrete paving actually involves. Because there's a big difference between doing it right and doing it fast.
Concrete paving covers any project where you need durable concrete surfaces. Driveways for residential properties. Parking lots for commercial buildings. Access roads. Loading zones. Pathways. Whatever needs to handle traffic and weather for decades.
We start with site evaluation. What's the soil like? How's drainage? What load will this surface carry? Regular cars? Delivery trucks? Heavy equipment? All that affects how we prep the base and what concrete specs we use.
Then there's excavation and base prep. This is the most important part. Little Elm's got clay soil in most areas. Clay expands when wet, shrinks when dry. That movement is hard on concrete. We deal with it through proper base preparation. Usually minimum 4-6 inches of compacted gravel. Sometimes more depending on soil conditions and what you're paving.
Get the base wrong and your concrete's gonna crack and settle no matter how good the pour is. We compact everything properly, grade for drainage, make sure it's stable before any concrete gets poured.
Next comes forming and reinforcement. Set forms to proper grade and slope. Add wire mesh or rebar depending on the application. This reinforcement helps concrete handle stress without cracking.
Then the pour. We use appropriate concrete mix for your specific project. Not all concrete's the same. Mix for driveways is different than mix for heavy traffic areas. We order what actually works for your situation.
Finishing matters too. Some surfaces need smooth finish. Others need texture for traction. We know what works for different applications.
Finally there's curing. Concrete needs time to reach full strength. We protect it during cure time and tell you exactly when you can start using it. Rush this part and you'll have weak concrete that doesn't last.
Had a business owner in West Little Elm call us last year. They'd had a parking area paved by another company two years before. Already cracking and settling. Turned out the base wasn't done right. Just poured concrete over clay soil without proper prep. That's gonna fail every time.
We tore it out, did proper base work with compacted gravel, poured new concrete with correct thickness and reinforcement. That was 18 months ago. Still looks perfect. That's the difference between concrete paving done right and concrete paving done cheap.
We handle concrete paving for driveways, parking lots, access roads, loading docks, pathways, whatever you need. Residential and commercial both. New construction and replacement work. All of it gets the same attention to detail because our name's on it when we're done.
